The Fort……here is SportTMan’s latest fort upgrade, the window comes from the neighbor’s trash, the “new” wood comes from an Amish barn that was torn down. It’s an eyesore to me, but to a 12 year old boy, it’s beautiful! Besides that I think 12 yo boys should have more opportunities to build cool forts and less opportunities for watching TV, using the computer, Nitendo DS, Wii etc……
The coolest fort in the world

What a beautiful fort! My boys would LOVE having something like that.
God Bless~

Mom of 4 boys here who is blessed see beauty through the eyes of boys…one of them being 12 yo. I love this fort!
wow that is quite a fort – and an imagination! Thanks for your comment on my blog!
I absolutely agree with you that 12 yr olds should be out building forts instead of playing video games and being on the computer! My son is only 5, and, thanks in part to his dad, is a vidoe game addict. I will be so glad when spring fully gets here n I can invest in outdoor toys to get him outside to play.
Did I ever tell you about the time my best friend (with help from me and some others) built a whole cabin in the woods?
Hi there! I live in Canada, I am almost 13 years old, and I absolutly ADORE making forts. Especially ones in my living room. In my eyes, this fort is pretty good. It could use a paint job and maybe some better pieces of wood, but where are you going to get that in the middle of the woods? Anyways, I proabably would’ve made it almost the same way as he did….. it’s very interesting. Actually, my sister and I made a fort the other day using only chairs, sofa cushions and pillows. My mom thinks it’s SOO GOOD, that she doesn’t want to take it down. It’s been up for almost 2 weeks now! She wants it to stay up for the whole summer! (And we’re supposed to trust her as a parent?) But.. she’s a fun mom, and I would think you are too. I totally agree that kids should be out and about all the time. Fresh air is a wonderful thing, and it’s a lot better than eating chips and playing video games all day. Anyways, I just wanted to say that it’s a wonderful fort and I hope they enjoyed it!
Hello. This is a long shot, because I know this was posted oh so long ago, but I am a children’s book writer (I wrote middle grade novels) and am working on a novel that has a fort built by a group of 12 year old boys in it. I have been looking for pictures of real forts to model mine after, and this one is AMAZING. I was wondering if I could email you to get more specifics on how this was built and with what materials. I can be found at my website: http://www.tamaraellissmith.com Thank you!
