One of our favorite things to do this summer was to make pancakes on the griddle on the side of our grill. They always tasted better when I made them this way. 🙂
I was thinking today how much we all enjoyed this, and it is such a simple thing.
Making pancakes and bacon, on our deck and enjoying the leisurely breakfast together. It really didn’t cost a lot, and it’s nothing fancy, trendy, or wild….it’s simple.
It reminds of this scripture
I Timothy 5:6-7
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we bought nothing into the world, and we take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
Simple is good, the trappings of popular, trendy, fancy things of this world do not always bring contentment. I love finding contentment in the small and simple things…..like breakfast on the deck with my family!
Jesus and Dark Chocolate 
One of our family’s favorite story series is Jungle Jam and Friends. One of the episodes lessons teaches…the more stuff we have, the more stuff we have to take care of. Yes, I want to be content with the simple things…the less for me to take care of.
Sounds perfect to me!!
We like coffee on the deck and the kids love eating chocolate chip pancakes on deck…tomorrow is one of our last free a.m.’s so that is in our plan!
