It has been a long, unstable hormonal, not sleeping kind of week. When I went to bed last night I was not planning to blog, I just didn’t feel like writing a FFF post. I was feeling rather frustrated.
But alas, this morning, I awake to a 2 hour school delay. A true delight for any teacher. So this morning I embark upon my day with a much better attitude, and can reflect upon my week reminded of the many blessings, not just focusing on the pain in the butt things that came my way.
Favorites this week included.
Homemade hot oatmeal. I had this for breakfast almost every day this week. A little brown sugar ( ok, so it’s a lot of brown sugar) and some raisins. Delicious, a great way to start off a cold winter morning.
I went for my annual mammogram this week. It was a smashing good time. 🙂 But I love technology. I was in and out in 15 min. So simple!!!
Basketball. I love watching SportTman play for his JV team! He is the starting center, and is having a great season. I enjoy watching him play with such determination and effort.
I got an portable iPod player for the Christms for my kitchen from Drums. I LOVE listening to the music on my iPod while I cook, and clean in the kitchen. It certainly brings a bit of joy to the chores of life when I can crank up some of my favorite tunes! How can you have too bad of an attitude about loading the dishwasher while listening to Hillsong, Casting Crowns, Kutless, Tenth Avenue North, Third Day, and good ole KJ-52
2 hour delay is my other favorite of the week. It certainly helped my attitude this week!
How was your week dear friends?
For more Friday Fave Five visit Susanne.
Love your five…especially the picture at the end…that is basketball love! I am so happy today is Friday! Have a splendid weekend!
I put lots of sugar (white) on my oatmeal too. I love it! And Amen to quick mammograms! Have a great week!
We didn’t get even a delay…boo hoo. Hope you have a great weekend and get more sleep.
The kids were hoping for snow here, but I am relieved it passed us by! I’m glad you got a little delay, though, and that this morning is better for you than last night.
I love brown sugar in my oatmeal, too. You can have the raisins, though. 🙂
LOL about the “smashing good time.” It is nice that it is a quick procedure.
LOL! I got to see that 2 hour delay from the OTHER side of life today. I was soundly sleeping when my phone rang and my daughter said “Mom, Luz has a 2 hr. delay today – I’ll be dropping her off in a minute.” ??? HUH? Ohhhhh… yeaaaa… I’m the Nana… I had to shovel out to get her to school on time! SURPRISE! 🙂
I LOVE brown sugar in my oatmeal too – but I put walnuts or pecans in instead of raisins. I’m not a big fan of raisins.
My kids never played basketball – but I always enjoyed whatever they WERE playing! I know you enjoy SportTman! The great thing about basketball is … it’s an indoor sport! 🙂 I’m glad he’s having a great season!
Love oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, sometimes is do Friday fav five and sometimes I don’t.
Just making the rounds today, the kids were out of school all day today because of snow and ice on the roads.
Can totally relate to your hormonal issues, i’m right there with you. I don’t have a lot of sleep issues but I am dealing with the emotional roller coasters and the hot flashes, it’s loads of fun.
Blessings
Robin
Oh that oatmeal would’ve been perfect today – can you believe this cold? So glad you reminded me of it. Back in another life I used to travel with work and we’d have room service for breakfast. I used to get teased because I would usually order oatmeal.
I love me some oatmeal in the mornings too! I eat mine with a little brown sugar, a couple scoops of yogurt, flaxseed meal and blueberries. Great way to start your day.
I remember the basketball and baseball days…
Have a happy weekend. There is much to be thankful for.
Interesting how porridge can be a favorite…I ate that all my childhood days…and have never made it since.
BB is great and so is good music.
LOL….smashing good time!
I really enjoy a hot bowl of oatmeal and if I throw in nuts, raisins, brown sugar and cream it’s worthy to be called dessert :0)
Enjoy your weekend!

well we STILL don’t have any significant snowfall here in the Albany NY area….ARGH! i DID have to commute to school this a.m. in a light falling snow but….sure not bad enough for delaying.
and YES….I LOVE listening to Casting Crowns, 10th Avenue North is one of my “new bands”..I just discovered them this past summer…..that was a great list of faves, Sandy!! Have a restful, hopefully more sleep, weekend!!
Hot oatmeal on cold mornings is the best! Good for you for getting that mammogram done! I know better than anyone how important they are!
Mmmm…oatmeal and brown sugar! Enjoyed your FFFs — come on over and see how my week was. (I’m a teacher, too, but we don’t get any delays in Florida!)
Hey I have that same hormonal not sleeping nights too. It is not fun. I wish for you a night of dreaming tonight. I enjoyed your favorite five.
I love two hour delays, too. I’m nursing a head cold that makes sleeping pretty miserable at night. But I doubt they’ll delay for fluries, tomorrow, huh?
Happy Monday to you!
We call oatmeal – porridge and I also love eating it in winter with lots of brown sugar or honey. My restless sleep has been due to our summer heat, but I feel a cool change coming and now I need to wait for it to cool down the house which is so hot.
Aren’t iPod docking stations just the best invention. I create long playlists (100+ tracks) so I don’t need to change my music all day.
I can relate to those hormonal, not sleeping kind of weeks. I’m glad you were able to have these wonderful moments amid all of that.
I like listening to contemporary Christian music while I work in the kitchen, too!
