Aloha Friday

alohafriday52

I had so much fun reading all the responses to my last Aloha Friday when I asked about your ideas for a quick, easy meal. (Click here to read the post and see all the great suggestions in the comments.)

I decided to milk my good fortune a little farther and ask for your help again……..

When I say quick, easy baked sale item or dessert, what comes to your mind?

For me it’s probably brownies from a boxed mix with ice cream.  I will often serve that when  I am in a hurry, or when we are having friends over and I don’t have time for something real fancy.  It’s really hard to go wrong with anything chocolate! 🙂

  1. Ok, I am not good in the kitchen at all, but these mint cookies are semi quick and so yummy. Better than the girl scout mint cookies. No lie.
    ritz crackers
    bark chocolate
    tablesoon of crisco
peppermint oil from the baking store

in a glass bowl, melt the bark and the crisco stir til soupy then add about 5 or so drops of mint oil
Then drop a ritz cracker in and with tongs dip and cover the cracker completely with the chocolate mix. Let dry on wax paper. so yummy. I am not kidding. you can also add sprinkles to the top to make them festive during the holidays.
    enjoy!
    Everyone loves them too:)

  2. I’m an ice cream gal all the way although I do like to make chocolate cake so that it’s just out of the oven after dinner & have a slice along with a large dollop of whipped cream. The real stuff not the fake!

  3. “TRASH” ~ Have made for tons of Bake sales!! Melt together 1 stick butter, 12 oz Choc.chips & 1 cup peanut butter ~ stir till creamy. Gently stir in one large box of Rice Chex (gentle fold being the operative words here!) Then, using a plastick kitchen size trash bag (really) pour in 1/2lb of Powdered Sugar and then pour in rice chex mix and(with bag tied shut) roll over and over gently! The mixture coats all the individual pieces of chex – it’s fabulous and easy. We always put in to sandwich or quart size bags and it sells, sells, sells!! Yummy!

  4. I don’t do boxed baked goods. ick.
BUT…I do have an awesome quick brownie recipe that you can make homemade while your company is enroute to your house. they literally only take 20 min to bake and about 7 to throw together…you’ll have to email me for the recipe or search under my faithfixes label for Chocoholic Brownies.

BUT…when I need a really quick fix I drive 3 min away to our local Stewarts shop where they sell ice cream, milk, etc (made by NYS farms) and buy their choc pb ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream….yummy. easy, quick
